Pool Party!
On
Saturday, June 26th supporters of ICMRT gathered in Shoreline at a
board members home for a lively fund raising event. From
mid-afternoon on through the evening the festivities included a
delicious West African meal, drinks, dessert, some very stimulating
conversation and an impressive presentation detailing the successful
work (thanks to you!!) the ICMRT is conducting in the Ivory Coast.
The weather was perfect, the pool was warm and full of kids and
everyone present showed their support for the people of the Ivory
Coast who continue to suffer from continued political instability
engendered by an attempted coup d’etat in 2002.
The event was also an opportunity to showcase our new ICMRT
t-shirts! We nearly sold out our on-hand supply and we already have
reports of them being spotted on the backs of folks in Washington,
Oregon, California and British Columbia! Our support base is
geographically huge!!
Most importantly the event raised over $3,200!! These funds
represent the ability for ICMRT to ship over $272,000.00 worth of
life saving medical supplies to the Ivory Coast. The ICMRT would
like to thank all of the participants, volunteers and generous
donors for making this fund raiser a great success!
