5th Fall Fundraiser to STOP Malaria!
On Saturday,
November 7, 2009, ICMRT will be holding a fundraiser event at
Shoreline Community Center to raise funds to benefit ICMRT’s
malaria prevention program in the Ivory Coast.
ICMRT’s
malaria program goal is to curb the death rate and other
devastating consequences of the disease. Our 2007 fundraiser
helped ICMRT and its in-country partners not only distributed
5,000 long last lasting mosquito nets to rural populations, but
also trained local volunteer community health workers in the
role of educating the population of their respective villages in
net care maintenance and malaria prevention strategies. You can
read more about the success of this plan in
our 8-month status here.
Our
November 7 Fundraiser gala and auction is to raise funds to
purchase and distribute 6,500 quick Malaria Diagnostic Kits to
rural villages covered by last year’s net distribution effort.
Our goal is to raise $25,000.00 to provide this important
diagnostic tool to the effort of protecting women and children
from this killer disease. We want you to join us at the
Shoreline Community Center and take action to fight malaria.
